Rules for Campus Residents
WE ARE HAPPY to have you as our guest and neighbor. We hope you will feel at home and enjoy yourself while here. This camp ground was established for the benefit of those who are interested in sharing in the work and ministry of Sea Breeze Community. We hope you will take time to get acquainted with the reasons behind this work and some of the many ministries being carried on today. We invite you to become a partner with us in your prayers and fellowship.
In order to serve you best and to maintain a harmonious atmosphere where God's people live and work together in love and unity, it is necessary for us to agree on some guidelines, such as the following:
Living and Working Together
- Please respect your neighbor by avoiding unnecessary noise, especially at night. All vehicles must have proper mufflers. Avoid traffic over his property (walking or otherwise). Instruct your children not to pick fruit which does not belong to you and not to pick flowers and break shrubs. Unless fruit is on property you have rented, it belongs to someone else.
- We ask that you keep your living quarters neat and clean and pay your rent and utilities promptly.
- These grounds are congested. For safety's sake we must insist that you observe the speed limit of 15 m.p.h. and discourage unnecessary traffic.
- Dogs and cats are not permitted on the grounds except when kept within privately owned facilities (as long as they are not a nuisance to others).
- Be economical with the use of water and electricity.
- Do not move furniture, equipment, or supplies from one room, apartment, or cottage, to another without permission.
- Some facilities are not wired for electrical hot plates or heaters. To avoid fire hazards, please check with the office before using these items.
- All distribution and sale of books, records, and other merchandise should be approved by the FEA office.
Behaving Ourselves Wisely
Our testimony is communicated by example as well as by words. For this reason we urge all those who live on the grounds to exercise the principles of modesty, simplicity, economy, and appropriateness in all that they do and specifically:
- Residents and campers are expected to attend the services of Hobe Sound Bible Church with reasonable regularity.
- Parents are responsible to see that their children abide by the rules of the grounds. Young people unaccompanied by their parents are subject to the authority and supervision of campus personnel.
- Please respect Sunday as a day of rest and worship by avoiding fishing, boating, or unnecessary work and noise. No clothes should be left on the lines over the Lord's Day.
- Because television is such a medium of anti-Christian influences and is disruptive to the spiritual life and ministries God has raised us up to fulfill, we do not permit it on the grounds. If it has been installed in your RV thank you for not using it while on the grounds.
- Clothing should be of modest length and style. Bathing suits and shorts are not to be worn in public. Ladies are asked to avoid the attire of men (such as slacks and pants suits).
- Profanity is prohibited.
- Smoking, drugs, or the use of intoxicating beverages are prohibited.
- Gambling is prohibited.
We recognize that some will not agree with us in everything, but we trust you will agree with the basic principles involved and will gladly and freely respect our purpose in maintaining these standards.
This is not to be interpreted as a rigid barrier of fellowship against those who do not agree with us in every detail, but is a sincere attempt to apply scriptural principle in the worship of a High and Holy God.
*Note: Students of Hobe Sound Bible College and Academy will be expected to maintain the rules of HSBC/A.
