News from South Africa
submitted by Stephen & Gwen Geise
It is amazing how much can change in six months . When we returned to South Africa we noticed a significant change in the roads. In an average season this area of country gets about 27 inches of rain, but between November 2010 and June 2011 this area received more than 3 feet of rain. The result is that already poor road conditions have led to terribly rutted mud roads and in town the potholes give the roads a chicken pox appearance.

Motovilovs Return to Russia
submitted by Valera & Maude Motovilov
Dear Friends,
We thank God for His help in our deputation travels! We felt God's presence and help because you were praying! God answered prayer in so many different ways!
This past week we have been packing and preparing for our trip to Russia. We leave this Thursday and would appreciate your prayers as we travel on the 21st through the 23rd. It is a long tiring trip with three small children and a lot of luggage! Please pray that things will go smoothly.
We trust you will have a blessed Easter Holiday with family and friends as we remember what our Savior did for us on Calvary. It's great to know that Jesus didn't stay in the grave, but that He is alive today!
Blessings,
Valera, Maude, Zarina, Alexander, and Nicolas Motovilov

Taiwan Times
submitted by Byron & Melissa Manners
Dear Friends,
I am going to send out this letter on our trip to Guam so I don’t have to deal with it in a regular newsletter. Missy wrote a lot of this, and you might actually like to have a letter from her instead of me. She had a bad asthma attack there, and caught a bad cold. I caught a bad cold on coming back to Taiwan. It was warm in Guam, in the eighties, and Taipei was very cold. I had a miserable weekend and needed a week to get my strength back. I guess it was one of those times we had to vacation from the vacation.
Here is Missy’s description. I will add a little in italics so you will understand who some of the people are. We left here on Monday morning a little after 10:00. We took the longer way north by traveling on the western coastal highway. We met Sharon around 4:00 and went to eat supper with her. Sharon is our close friend that found the deal for Guam on the internet and arranged for us to go. Jeffery is her husband, not yet a Christian. Jeffrey was golfing on Monday and then he had an errand to do. He was going to meet us for supper later, but changed and only met us as we were parking our car and allowing them to take us to the airport.

One year after the earthquake ...
submitted by Office staff
In many places in Haiti, things don’t appear much different from what they were a year ago. Reports say that only 10% of the rubble from the January 2010 earthquake has been hauled away. And every available lot is still filled with tents.
But there is good news …
A number of good changes have occurred in the past year:
- The children in HIM’s orphanage have been safely relocated to their new home in Grand Riviere. The new lot provides a beautiful place for the children to play.
- The mission house at the new location was repaired and expanded.
- God provided a generator that provides all the electricity the compound needs.
- A new building was erected to store food.
- Bunk beds were built for the orphans and each child has a new mattress, sheet and blanket.
- The mission school now has 150 students, including the orphans.
- At Christmas, each child got a complete, new outfit, a toy, and a Creole New Testament.
Goal for the coming year:
- Add a second storage to the orphanage.
- A couple is planning to go to Haiti as missionaries!
God is working in Haiti!

Taiwan Times
submitted by Byron & Melissa Manners
Has God ever given you a Christmas present? This Christmas I had a strange experience that could only have been arranged by God. It actually started back in November when Missy bumped into a lady on the street. This lady asked if Missy was Jewish because of the covering she wears on her head. Missy explained she was not and said that she and I were missionaries pastoring a local church. The lady took our card and promised to come. Later that week, she bumped into me on the street. I was on my way for therapy, so I was not interested in talking, but she told me she had met my wife and would be coming to church. She and her husband came for one of my Bible studies, and then to Sunday service. Her husband really liked me, and said he would start attending our church. Come to find out, they were Christians, but he would not go to church. He said the pastors in Taiwan talk a lot, but there is no action to back up what they say. He sensed something in me that was different. I was really humbled, yet the Lord used what he said to encourage me.
