A word from Johan & Hess Van der Merwe
We live in South Africa and got to know Pieter and Hester Marais in 1995, while they were missionaries in Lesotho. We started to work with them after they moved over the border to South Africa to work with the people on the farms near us. Since 1997, we attended the Bible studies and theological training, and Johan started to preach soon. We attended camp meeting in Hobe Sound, Florida, in 2000, and became HIM missionaries. We help with church planting and Johan is doing training every week. Hessie helps with the children's work on Sundays and with all the activities in the work like conferences and outreaches. Every week we help to transport the people to church and Bible studies. We oversee the work while Pieter and Hester are on deputation and when they are doing the Bible and literature work once a year in the northern part of Southern Africa.
